Karie Kellert, Assistant Superintendent,
Cleveland (OK) Public Schools |
|
Finding a V. I. (Visually Impaired) Specialist
to consult with parents, teachers and I. E. P. (Individualized Education Plan)
teams is extremely difficult. This task becomes almost impossible for
schools such as ours that are located in rural areas. Debby was willing to
contract with our district for a very reasonable rate. Debby was also able to
schedule us quickly.
She traveled to our school to observe the student,
and visit with the parent and teachers. She was extremely thorough when
preparing a report and in her participation at the I. E. P team meeting.
Her greatest strength is her ability to look at the child in an holistic
manner and to assist the team in developing a realistic program that will
allow the student to participate in the general curriculum with
non-disabled students.

This is my 27th year as a teacher and
administrator, and I can say without hesitation that Debby was a joy to
work with and that we will work exclusively with Debby in the future. |
